Congratulation to Ferreilean on becoming our third Battle for Azeroth Pacifist Champion!

Starting her Druid back in March of 2013, it took Ferre approximately 2,028 days to reach max level (a /played time of 18 days). Ferre likes to use Archeology to help level her Pacifists as we well know from the last time she was on the show for Ep. 130 “Ferre Digs It”. Ferreilean is her first character to obtain the title of Professor!

Level 115 brought a heart-stopping moment when flying to Southern Barrens. She got too close to a Horde camp and was shot at in the air. Ferre did manage to get away but her screen was flashing red and she ended up flagged for PvP.

When asked what’s next, Ferre said she has an Iron Druid at level 111 and that she’ll be working on that.

Congratulations once again Ferre and good luck on your Iron!

Reminder: We no longer have a “CLEAN” tag.

Get your tankards ready, put on your Romance Goggles (while they’re still common quality!) and have some fun!  Brewfest will run from September 20th to October 6th!

Quests: All lead-in, ram-racing, and daily quests are allowed. Pacifists may not want to do ram-racing since you’re whipping the poor thing, but there will be nothing there to technically disqualify you.

Loot: Most of the white Bavarian gear has been turned to uncommon, so you can no longer equip it. There are a handful of items still remaining that are common (white) quality, however, you should be very cautious with these as they may turn uncommon (green) in a future patch. Your challenger will be flagged. You can cash in your Brewfest Prize Tokens for the Brewmaster title or add to your toy or pet collection.

Coren Direbrew: Since this is in a dungeon again this year, it’s not allowed for any challenger (Iron, Tin, Green, Blood or Pacifist).

Brewfest Enthusiast: At 6:15 am & 6:15 pm, Mekkatorque, and Saurfang issue speeches. Everyone nearby gets a 2-hour buff that grants +10% experience. This buff is NOT ALLOWED. If you happen to be in the area when the buff is applied, you can simply right-click it off.

Blood Thirsty Challengers: Overall, the event is centered around quests, which you are not allowed to do.

Pacifist Challengers: While you can do *some* quests, you should be very cautious as you may accidentally pick up proximity kills when the Dark Iron Dwarves attack.

This year’s Harvest Festival has started and will run through September 25th.

The Harvest Festival basically has one quest that leads you to honor a hero. Alliance characters are sent from Ironforge to Uther’s Tomb in Western Plaguelands, while Horde characters are sent from Orgrimmar to Grom’s Monument in Ashenvale.

This is actually a great opportunity to grab some nice food (granting 4% health and mana per second) and is accessible without needing to complete the quest. This food will scale with your level… STOCK UP NOW!

This quest is okay for Irons, Tins, Greens, and Pacifists. Sorry Blood Thirsty challengers no love for you here as a quest is involved, best to just grab a snack and be on your way.

You can read through the Wowhead guide here: https://www.wowhead.com/harvest-festival-guide

Per0tin joins us again to talk about his latest challenge adventures and ask for advice on whether he should do Blood Thirsty or Pacifist first. Thank you to Thilani for gifting the Virtual Ticket & Game-time back to the top 10 finishers in the contest (Linamunn won!).  As always we cover the State of the Challengers; Leeta & Stone review their weeks into the challenges; We read your comments, feedback and answer your questions.

Reminder: We no longer have a “CLEAN” tag.

In Battle for Azeroth, we are given the Heart of Azeroth, this expansion’s equivalent of the Legion artifact weapon. In the previous expansion we allowed a one-time equip of the Legion artifact weapon in order to open up quest lines as it was previously thought the artifact was required to access Legion zones and subsequent quests. On hindsight, the Legion artifact equip was the wrong decision as there ARE some Legion quests available (not all).

With this in mind, we turn our gaze towards BFA. All characters are able to access the new BFA zones from Stormwind (Alliance) and the Echo Isles (Horde) without needing to skip the Battle for Lordaeron scenario and without equipping the Heart of Azeroth. Since we can all access the new BFA zones freely, mage portals and warlock summons will continue to not be allowed.

Overall the Heart of Azeroth is a very strong “stat-stick”, one that normally would never be allowed under Iron rules as it violates our gear quality rules. Without equipping the Heart of Azeroth, a challenger will be unable to take / complete any “War campaign” quests, which would account for about half of all quests available to a challenger in their faction zones. With some exploration, we’ve found that there are a significant number of breadcrumb starter quests that are not related to the War Campaign; enough quests should be available in BFA zones for a challenger without needing to unlock the War Campaign.

Presently, an equip of the Heart of Azeroth and subsequent achievement will lead to a red-flag for any challenger and it will remain that way for the forseeable future. The removal of a potential avenue of cheating in this case outweighs the reduction in quests available for BFA.

It is an item we can revisit should we see no significant progress towards Level 120 for most of the challenges. For the time being, you will need to scrounge every ounce of experience from anything you can find.

I appreciate everyone’s feedback and advice over the last few days as it played a significant part in the direction we are taking now.

Good luck and safe travels!

Ferre returns this week to share with us her pacifist experience and knowledge!
