Hallow’s End

“Prepare yourselves, the bells have tolled! Shelter your weak, your young and your old! Each of you shall pay the final sum! Cry for mercy; the reckoning has come!”

Our ghouls and goblins can delight while the rest of us will be cowering with fright! Hallow’s End has come round again and will be haunting us from October 18th through November 1st. For a full in-depth review of this event please feel free to check out WoWHead.com’s guide: Hallow’s End 2019

The following information is for the Iron Man Challenge. For information on the other challenge variants please see below.

New for 2019
Looks like the only thing new for this year was an update to the item level of the loot dropped by the Headless Horseman from the dungeon event and doesn’t really pertain to us.

Quests & Daily Quests
You may complete all of the quests and daily quests that are offered for this event.

Apple Bobbing
In the starting zone towns, you will find water barrels with apples in them where you can bob for apples. These apples will return 3% of your health and mana over 25 seconds while eating and do not provide any buffs. Feel free to stock up on them but do keep in mind this item will vanish from your bags once the event is over.

A Stinky Situation
You are ALLOWED to participate in the following quests: Stink Bombs Away! (Alliance), Clean Up in Stormwind, Stink Bombs Away! (Horde), and Clean Up in Undercity. Please do keep in might that these quests might cause you to be PVP flagged for a brief amount of time so exercise caution.

The Wickerman
You are ALLOWED to complete the Wickerman quest however the buff Unburdened (Alliance) or Grim Visage (Horde) is NOT ALLOWED. This buff provides a bonus to experience and reputation right-click it off immediately.
Additionally, every 4 hours an announcement will be made throughout Stormwind and Undercity signifying an RP event will be starting in 10 minutes that takes place by the Wickerman statue. At the end of the RP event, Genn or Sylvanas will buff nearby players with either Greymane’s Resolve or Decree of the Dark Lady. These buffs are NOT ALLOWED! Ideally, you should leave the area when the announcement is made about the event starting soon. If you do happen to get the buff on you it needs to be removed at once.

Headless Horseman Town Event
For this event, the Headless Horseman will rain down terror upon the starting zone towns setting the buildings on fire. You will need to grab a water bucket and try to put the flames out and then the Headless Horseman will descend to the ground where everyone can attack him. Once defeated a pumpkin will appear on the ground for you to loot. You are ALLOWED to participate in this event however there are two things to make note of. First off after the Headless Horseman has been defeated you’ll receive a buff called “Victory”. This buff should be removed but can only be done so after leaving town. Secondly, please take care when the Headless Horseman is around. The fires he sets can kill your challenger. Due to the risk of the Headless Horseman killing your challenger, it might be best to wait out the encounter and run in to loot the pumpkin after it’s over.

Candy Buckets
You are ALLOWED to utilize the candy buckets that are scattered across the inns throughout Azeroth. It’s a great way to pick up some relatively easy XP but it will up the mileage on your mounts as this is a travel heavy activity. WoWHead has put together a complete list of candy bucket locations which can be found here. Don’t forget if you are a higher level challenger you may need to find and speak with Zidormi to turn back time in order to access candy buckets in some zones.

Candy
You are ALLOWED to obtain Tricky Treats since they are used as currency to acquire special items available from the event vendors. You are NOT ALLOWED to consume them or the Hallow’s End candy as they grant buffs to your character.

jackHallow’s End is once again upon us! We’ve updated our list of do’s and don’t’s to help guide you through the event. Hallow’s End runs from October 18 through November 1. Here’s Wowhead’s guide: https://www.wowhead.com/hallows-end-guide

Applicable Challenges: Generally Irons, Tins, Pacifists, Greens and Iron Teams may participate in Hallow’s End to some extent (depending on your specific challenge), however, Blood Thirsty and Blood Teams challengers may not participate due to their limited quest completion restrictions.

Candy Buckets – This is a great time to pick up some relatively easy XP. You can get free experience by going to inns all across the World of Warcraft and looting the candy buckets. A list of all candy buckets can be found here: https://www.wowhead.com/hallows-end-guide#candy-bucket-locations-and-mapsAllowed: Irons, Pacifists, Tins, Greens, Iron Teams. Not Allowed: Bloods & Blood Teams.

Candy in General – The Tricky Treat candy and Hallow’s End Candy are NOT ALLOWED as they grant buffs to your character.

Apple Bobbing – Apples from the bucket are okay. They return 75% of your health over 25 seconds while eating, however, do not give any buffs. Please keep in mind these can only be used during the Hallow’s End event. Once the event is over, these items will disappear from your bags. ALLOWED on all challengers.

The Wicker Man – It is okay to do the Wicker Man quest only. In the process of doing the quest you will receive a buff that gives you a bonus to experience and reputation. The buff itself is NOT ALLOWED. Please right-click it off immediately. Allowed: Irons, Pacifists, Tins, Greens, Iron Teams. Not Allowed: Bloods & Blood Teams.

Tricky Treats – You are allowed to collect the Tricky Treats and use them to buy pets, mounts and rewards, however, please keep in mind that any items purchased are still subject to the Challenge Rules. You can buy a battle pet no problem… you just can’t use it on that Challenge Character. ALLOWED on all challengers.

Headless Horseman Defeated in Town – In Brill, Goldshire or wherever, you will be able to douse the fires of the headless horseman and defeat him. You are allowed to loot the pumpkin. However, you will receive a buff called “Victory!” that can’t be removed unless you’re out of the town. When it’s time to leave the town, simply right-click the buff off and you’ll be good to go. Fire Warning: the fire WILL kill your challenger. Take care when the Horseman is around. Allowed: Irons, Pacifists, Tins, Greens, Iron Teams. Not Allowed: Bloods & Blood Teams.

Headless Horseman DungeonNOT ALLOWED: You are not allowed to queue for the Headless Horseman dungeon as this is against the rules of all challenges.

Hallowed Helm NOT ALLOWED: Cosmetic gear is no longer allowed to be equipped. This will red-flag your character.

Hallow’s End Themed Gear Warning: Hallow’s End Armor is now GREEN and will flag your Irons, Pacifists, Tins and Blood TEAMS challengers. Blood Thirsty (solo) and Green challengers can wear the Green / Uncommon armour.

jackHallow’s End is upon us and I’ve written up a quick list of do’s and don’t’s to help guide you through the event. Hallow’s End runs from October 18 through November 1. Here’s Wowhead’s guide: https://www.wowhead.com/news=274251/hallows-end-2017-holiday-updates-and-guide

Blood Thirsty Warning: Generally events don’t apply to Bloods, Hallow’s End is no exception. Completing quests will count against you.

Candy Buckets – This is a great time to pick up some relatively easy XP. You can get free experience by going to inns all across the World of Warcraft and looting the candy buckets. A list of all candy buckets can be found here: https://www.wowhead.com/hallows-end-guide#candy-bucket-locations-and-maps

Candy in General – The candy themselves are probably not a good idea to you. The Tricky Treat candy, for example, gives your character a 4% bonus to your speed. Yes, you’ve earned that item on your character but it is giving you a buff…  it’s the same way as buying buff food… you’ve earned the gold for it yes, but the buff itself is not allowed. The Hallow’s End Candy also does give benefits that are not allowed for your challenger.

Apple Bobbing – Apples from the bucket are okay. They return 75% of your health over 25 seconds while eating, however, do not give any buffs. Please keep in mind these can only be used during the Hallow’s End event… after November 1, these items will disappear from your bags.

The Wicker Man – It is okay to do the Wicker Man quest only. In the process of doing the quest you will receive a buff that gives you a bonus to experience and reputation. The buff itself is NOT ALLOWED. Please right-click it off before turning in any other quests. This is similar to the Midsummer Fire Festival buff that was also not allowed.

Tricky Treats – You are allowed to collect the Tricky Treats and use them to buy pets, mounts and rewards, however, please keep in mind that any items purchased are still subject to the Challenge Rules. You can buy a battle pet no problem… you just can’t use it on that Challenge Character.

There are new items you can buy with your tricky treats in 2017:

Headless Horseman Defeated in Town – In Brill, Goldshire or wherever, you will be able to douse the fires of the headless horseman and defeat him. You are allowed to loot the pumpkin. However, you will receive a buff called “Victory!” that can’t be removed unless you’re out of the town. When it’s time to leave the town, simply right-click the buff off and you’ll be good to go. Fire Warning: the fire WILL kill your challenger. Take care when the Horseman is around.

Headless Horseman Dungeon – You are not allowed to queue for the Headless Horseman dungeon as this is against the rules of all challenges.

Hallowed Helm (Gear Exception)– This piece of gear is equipped on your head. Normally this would red-flag you since it’s a blue item, however, I’ve made an exception in the code to allow this gear since it provides no boosts or bonuses… it’s purely cosmetic.

Gear Warning: Hallow’s End Armor is now GREEN and will flag you!

All Other Quests – All other quests should be allowed. I don’t see anything in particular that would not be allowed.

jackGreetings and salutations to all challengers of Iron, Blood or … flowers?
