Pilgrim’s Bounty

Cranberry chutney and pumpkin pie, slow roasted turkey and spice bread stuffing, my oh my. A feast for your stomach, a feast for your eyes can only mean one thing, Pilgrim’s Bounty has arrived! This year, Pilgrim’s Bounty begins on November 25th and will wrap up on December 2nd. WoWHead.com has a full review of this event which you can find here.

The following information is for the Iron Man Challenge. For information on the challenge variants please see below.

New for 2019
At this time there does not appear to be any updates for Pilgrim’s Bounty this year.

A Wrinkle in Time
Please be aware some of the zones have undergone big changes throughout several expansions. In order for some of the higher level challengers to access the Pilgrim’s Bounty NPCs, the event’s bountiful tables, or find the wild turkeys you may need to locate Zidormi to turn back time for that zone.

Quests & Daily Quests
This holiday revolves around food therefore the quests and daily quests do as well. Several quests require players to cook and bring the items to NPCs. Due to cooking NOT being permitted for Irons those quests are NOT ALLOWED. Other quests allow players to cook or buy the items to bring to the NPCs. These quests are ALLOWED but you’ll need to purchase the required quest items directly off the Auction House. You may NOT trade with other players to get them and you may NOT send the cooked items to your challenger.

Completing the dailies will reward you with a Pilgrim’s Bounty. Inside there is a chance you could find the Frightened Bush Chicken pet, the Silver-Plated Turkey Shooter toy, a Fine Pilgrim’s Hat, a Turkey Shooter, or cooking recipes.

Bountiful Tables
The bountiful tables can be found in all major cities and towns with inns. Eating at these tables is ALLOWED for the purposes of completing the quests, however, please note that eating the same meal 5 times will give you buffs that are NOT ALLOWED and must be removed immediately. They are as follows: Feast On Cranberries, Feast On Pie, Feast On Stuffing, Feast On Sweet Potatoes, and Feast On Turkey. Additionally, the Spirit of Sharing buff which increases reputation gains by 10% for 1 hour is also NOT ALLOWED and must be removed pronto. Pilgrim’s Bounty starts today, November 19th, and will run through November 26th. My main point of reference here is the WoWHead.com guide. It appears that nothing new was added to this event.

Bountiful Tables: These are found at all major cities and towns with inns. Eating here is ALLOWED for purposes of completing the quest, however, please note that eating the same meal 5 times will give you a buff that is not allowed:

Transmog Items:

  • The Pilgrim’s Hat, Attire, Dress, Robe, and Boots are NOT ALLOWED for Irons, Tins, Bloods, Pacifists, Iron Teams or Blood Teams. Previous years these items were white, they are now green. The only challengers that may wear these items now are Green challengers as daily quests are required to obtain them.
  • The Rare-quality (blue) Fine Pilgrim’s Hat is also NOT ALLOWED.

Battle Pets: You can obtain the following two battle pets (but again, cannot use them within the confines of the challenge).

  • Frightened Bush Chicken can be found in the daily Pilgrim’s Bounty quest reward.
  • Plump Turkey is rewarded from completing the Pilgrim achievement (not possible for Challengers to do).

Pilgrim Achievement: Currently this achievement is not possible to complete for Challengers since some of the requirements would break our challenge rules.

  • Irons, Tins, Greens, Blood Thirsty, Iron Teams, and Blood Teams: Cannot get the Now We’re Cookin’ achievement since cooking is not allowed.
  • Pacifists: Cannot get the Terokkar Turkey Time achievement as killing is required.

Daily Quests: There are two sets of quests… ones that require cooking and others that let you either cook or BUY the necessary quest items. Pacifists are allowed to complete both sets of quests since cooking is allowed for them. Irons, Tins, and Greens are only allowed to complete the quests where you can buy the items.

Completing the dailies will give you a Pilgrim’s Bounty reward, in which you can find the Frightened Bush Chicken or the Silver-Plated Turkey Shooter toy. This item sells for 10 gold! You can also keep this since it’s a toy and does not provide any in-game assistance.

Pacifists: Please be aware some of the quests require you to kill turkeys for the reagent Wild Turkey. This will count as a kill. Thank you to Cell for checking this out and reporting back to us.

Blood Thirsty(Solo & Teams): Unfortunately here we are at yet ANOTHER world event you can’t participate in.

Food Recipes: Pacifists can learn five new cooking recipes: Spice Bread Stuffing (1), Pumpkin Pie (100), Cranberry Chutney (160), Candied Sweet Potato (220), Slow-Roasted Turkey (280). All of these items provide buffs. You can EAT the food, however, you must right-click the buff OFF.

With patch 7.2.5 a nice undocumented change that came in resulted in many holiday items that were previously Common (white) are now Uncommon (green). This has resulted in many challengers being red-flagged.

It is important that you remove the items from your character ASAP.

I’ve gone through to reset most flags, however, I don’t believe all characters will be updated to reflect the new uncommons that were equipped. I’ll be doing another pass tomorrow after our big nightly job is done and attempt to fix any new toons that get flagged again.

If you see your character incorrectly flagged, please let me know at Stone -AT- WoWChallenges.com. All I will need is your toon, realm, region and I can go have a look. When you send me your character information, please make sure you’ve already unequipped the gear so that you won’t be red-flagged again.

At first we thought this change only applied to Noblegarden cosmetic items, however, I’ve found cases of this applied to Brewfest and Pilgrim’s Bounty items. There are still cosmetic items that remain Common (white), however, based on this change I highly suggest you unequip any items that are marked “cosmetic” in case this happens again.

Bountiful Tables: These are found at all major cities and towns with inns. Eating here is ALLOWED for purposes of completing the quest, however, please note that eating the same meal 5 times will give you a buff that is not allowed:

Transmog Items:

  • The Pilgrim’s Hat, Attire, Dress, Robe and Boots are all okay to be worn. They are white-quality equipped items.
  • The Rare-quality (blue) Fine Pilgrim’s Hat is ALLOWED. It offers no stats or buffs and is purely cosmetic. I’ve already made an exception in the code for this item. If you equip it you should NOT unequip it as it could cause you to be incorrectly flagged. It’s the price we pay for looking good.

Battle Pets: You can win the following two battle pets (but again, cannot use them within the confines of the challenge).
