This year’s Harvest Festival has started and will run through to October 6, the same day Brewfest completes. You can check out our Brewfest guide here: http://wowchallenges.com/index.php?Blog=1183

Harvest Festival basically has one quest that leads you to honor a hero. Alliance characters are sent from Ironforge to Uther’s Tomb, while Horde characters are sent from Orgrimmar to Grom’s Monument.

This is actually a great opportunity to grab some nice 4% / second health & mana food. This food will scale with your level… STOCK UP NOW!

This quest is okay for Irons, Pacifists and Tins (sorry, no Blood Thirsty love, y’all too gory for questing).

You can read through the Wowhead guide here: https://www.wowhead.com/harvest-festival-guide

We’ve been talking about making these changes since the end of the last contest, well… the time is finally here. Blood Thirsty challengers that currently exist on the site will still be held to the old rule, however, new challengers will be held to the new rule. The change will officially take effect on Sept.28 2017 at 3am Eastern.

Blood Thirsty challengers are now allowed to only complete 4 quests and still remain green-flagged. Completing 5 to 9 quests will result in a yellow flag. Completing 10 or more quests will result in a red-flag.

Death Knights, Demon Hunters, Goblins, Pandaren, and Worgen are all allowed to complete their introductory / starter zone quests.  Additionally, we are allowing a handful of quests to allow you access to the Mists of Pandaria and Legion expansion zones. We’ve put up a page that tells you the ending quest of each chain.

To check if you’ve completed any quests on your challenger there will be gold exclamation mark near your character name (much like the WoW quest indicator). In this page you’ll see a brief summary of the quests you’ve completed along with a list of the quests completed that will count against you. There is not much we can do to remove a quest that has been completed, but if you see a completed quest that you think should count be allowed, please let us know.

Outroguester made it to 110 with an outlaw spec’ed rogue, his 4th champion toon. His first two rogues were Subtlety spec’ed and his druid is Feral.

The 23rd champion since Legion’s release took 139 days and 347 hours of played time and 3056 quests. After AH sales, buying fast flights, garrison buildings, ended up with 74,000 of gold.

Here’s some interesting stats: the ironman leader-board has 9 hunters, 3 rogues, 2 each for Monk, Druid, and Mage, while only 1 each for Warrior, Pally, Shaman, Priest, and Warlock. So plenty of room for your challenge toon to join the party!

When asked which is better for rogue, Subtlety or Outlaw, Ster says “Subtlety has better defense capabilities while Outlaw is a little more fun with Pistol Shot. Regardless of which rogue spec you pick, you better have your core rogue skills perfected, such as melee attack, escape, crowd control, and put Vanish on multiple places on your action bars.” More discussions of subtlety versus outlaw can be found on the challenge forums here: http://wowironmanchallenge.proboards.com/thread/1411/rogue-spec

We are very proud and honoured to announce that the WoW Challenges Podcast & Adventures in Azeroth podcast will be taking a seat in the World of Warcraft panel at this year’s Con Before the Storm – World of Podcasts event on Thursday November 2nd at the Hilton Anaheim at BlizzCon!

This is HUGE for us, both as a community and as a podcast.

Thank you to all of you for your effort, enthusiasm and dedication to our community and a big thank you to the folks that advocated and backed us. We will not let you down!

Get your tankards ready, put on your Romance Goggles (while they’re still common quality!) and have some fun!  Brewfest will run from September 20 to October 6!

Quests: All lead-in, ram-racing and daily quests are allowed. Pacifists may not want to do ram-racing since you’re whipping the poor thing, but there will be nothing there to technically disqualify you.

Loot: Most of the white Bavarian gear has been turned to uncommon, so you can no longer equip it. There are a handful of items still remaining that are common (white) quality, however, you should be very cautious with these as they may turn uncommon (green) in a future patch. Your challenger will be flagged. You can cash in your Brewfest Prize Tokens for the Brewmaster title or add to your toy or pet collection.

Coren Direbrew: Since this is in a dungeon again this year, its not allowed for any challenger (Iron, Blood or Pacifist).

Brewfest Enthusiast: At 615am & 615pm, Mekkatorque and Saurfang issue speeches. Everyone nearby gets a 2-hour buff that grants +10% experience. This buff is NOT ALLOWED. If you happen to be in the area when the buff is applied, you can simply right-click it off.

Blood Thirsty Challengers: Overall, the event is centered around quests, which you are not allowed to do.

Pacifist Challengers: While you can do *some* quests, you should be very cautious as you may accidentally pick up proximity kills when the Dark Iron Dwarves attack.

If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to ask us on Discord, our forums, or on Twitter: @WoWChallenges.

Yesterday we had the privilege of joining @Spencer_Downey and @Shieldwalled on their most recent episode of The Starting Zone. We talked about what the Ironman challenge was, what I play / go in the World of Warcraft (as well as some other games) and reviewed what was new in WoW this week. We may also have talked very briefly about “IT” (at the end of the show)… but we still can’t talk about “IT” in any great detail (SOOOOOOOON).

You can download / listen to the episode here: http://thestartingzone.spazbotstudios.com/ep216/ or watch the live recording on youtube:
