This will be a short episode this week as it was not really recorded live. Stone talks about Pilgrim’s Bounty, the WoW 13th Anniversary event, the new Iron Teams challenge progress and we have Mrs.Stone and Bozo#2 to read the State of the Challengers. The recording can be found through patreon: the video will be up in the Patrons video list in a week or you can just go look at the VoD on Twitch.
Announcing our 2nd Legion Pacifist champion: Ferre’s Night Elf Druid Ferreilean! Ferre may also have the highest record for number of days to accomplish Legion max cap, coming in at 1,723 days since starting the toon back in March of 2013. When asked about this, Ferre said “Yes, I played it at my own pace, enjoyed the journey, and the changes that came with the expansions, etc. Every race needs a tortoise.”
She has a total time played of 15d 9hr 9 min. Total quests 2316 (1756 dailies). Some other stats include:

Yes! On behalf of all the challengers, mods, sponsors, and everyone who enjoys the WoW Ironman Challenge, we present the latest iron challenger, number 25 on the Iron Champion list….. Stone! Yes, the guy who maintains the web site, the guy who co-hosts weekly podcasts, the guy who steers the WoW Ironman challenge…. has gotten his hunter to level 110. This endeavor started in June and 144 days later in late November, “Zymcore” and his pet turtle dinged after finishing up a Plants vs. Zombies daily.
When asked about his experience, Stone said it took at least 30 or more prior attempts (and iron deaths) to make it to the top. This toon has a /played time of a little over 180 hours. His best advice? As you are working your way through the levels, research what your toon can and can’t do with quests. Quests can vary wildly for a ranged toon like a hunter versus same quest with a melee toon. Good advice, because when your toon is past 100, and approaching 110, you sure don’t want to die to a preventable event!
Pilgrim’s Bounty starts today, November 20th 2017 and will run up to and including November 27th 2017. My main point of reference here is the WoWHead.com guide. It appears that nothing new was added to this event.
Bountiful Tables: These are found at all major cities and towns with inns. Eating here is ALLOWED for purposes of completing the quest, however, please note that eating the same meal 5 times will give you a buff that is not allowed:
Daily Quests: There are two sets of quests… ones that require cooking and others that let you either cook or BUY the necessary quest items. Pacifists are allowed to complete both sets of quests since cooking is allowed for them, however, Irons are only allowed to complete the quests where you can buy the items.
This week Aprillian joins Stone and Leeta to share her recent adventures in World of Warcraft. We talk about Pilgrim’s Bounty and the WoW 13th Anniversary event. The new Iron Teams challenge rules are also discussed. They also chat about their week with their challenge characters and as always run down the State of the Challengers and respond to community questions.
The Celebration Package, while great for your regular alts, is NOT ALLOWED for any Challenge character.
Blood Thirsty Challengers: When you open the gift you will have a quest that gets auto-accepted. This quest will count against your Quest Completion if you turn it in.
There are actually two daily quests available:
A Time to Reflect is available for ALL LEVELS. Irons and Tins should be able to do this quest (sorry Bloods, back to the blood-soaked fields you go). Pacifists should check the quest out first (or let us know) but I would think this quest should be okay as you are answering a question. One issue you may run into is proximity kills if someone starts killing critters beside the quest-giver. Beware.
The Originals is available only for Level 60 or higher characters. You are not allowed to join a group, so overall this quest would be a no-go for your Challenger. You can try to tag the world boss, but you do so at your own risk; I’m sure there will be some fairly deadly effects. Blood Thirsty and Pacifists most certainly cannot do this quest.
It is one thing to sit in front of a camera and talk to a chat room; it is a completely different experience to sit in front of a packed house with all eyes on you. I have a ton of respect for the professional podcasters we all know and love and now even more respect for those that are able to pull it off in front of a live audience.
This week Broximar joins Stone and Leeta to share his Challenge adventures. They also chat about their week with their challenge characters and as always run down the State of the Challengers and respond to community questions.
This week Leeta is joined by Nisey and Ster for the WoW Challenges Podcast! We catch up with Stone LIVE at BlizzCon as well as chat about new things coming and talk about how our week in WoW went. As always we check out the State of the Challengers and respond to community questions.
