World of Warcraft’s 16th anniversary celebration event has begun!  This year’s celebration will run until November 22nd. All of the anniversary event NPCs can once again be found in the Caverns of Time. Direct portals to the Caverns of Time can be found in the portal rooms located in Stormwind and Orgrimmar. The following information is for the Iron Man Challenge. For information on the other challenge variants please see below.

The Anniversary Gift
Logging in for the first time during the event will reward you with an achievement. You’ll also receive an in-game mail with special event goodies. This year’s anniversary gift contains the following:
– A Celebration Package: When used will increase all experience and reputation gains by 16% until the event ends. This item is NOT ALLOWED.
– A Celebration Firework: No buffs appear to be associated with this item so it is ALLOWED.
– Timewarped Badges: 200 of these will be automatically added to your Timewarped Badge currency total after opening the anniversary gift. They are ALLOWED.
– An Invitation from the Timewalkers: This item starts a quest that will direct you to head to the Caverns of Time. After some testing, it looks like you’ll need to be level 30 to start this. No experience points are awarded after completion and you won’t need to turn this in to access the trivia question daily. It’s just a breadcrumb quest to get you to where the party is. This quest is ALLOWED.

Vendor Items
Historian Ma’di has a few items for sale in exchange for Timewarped Badges. Please remember to follow your challenge’s rules when looking to make a purchase. This year’s new item is a blue quality transmog cape. Better to leave this purchase to a non-challenger. 

Quests
The Originals quest is available for Alliance and Horde players who are level 30 or higher according to WoWHead. You are NOT ALLOWED to join a group, so overall this quest would be a no-go. You can try to tag the world bosses but this could be a rather risky move as these bosses can be rather deadly even at a distance.

The Time to Reflect trivia quest is available daily. You can pick this quest up from Historian Llore or Historian Ju’pa. Both of these quest givers can be found in the Caverns of Time. This quest is ALLOWED as all you need to do is answer a random trivia question.

Battleground: Alterac Valley of Olde
The Alterac Valley of Olde battleground has been brought back again this year. While this may indeed be a fun event please remember that participating in battlegrounds is NOT ALLOWED.

Tin Man
– The Celebration Package is NOT ALLOWED! When used will increase all experience and reputation gains by 16% until the event ends.
