Congratulations to Ferreilean on becoming our 14th Shadowlands Pacifist Challenge champion! Ferreilean’s Pacifist journey took 3,260 days and 19 hours, with a /played time of 18 days and 19 hours. However, having previously reached champion status during the Battle for Azeroth expansion, we’ve estimated her /played leveling time for Shadowlands to be approximately 19 hours.
This challenger is Ferre’s 7th Shadowlands Pacifist champion and her 10th Shadowlands champion overall.
Ferreilean was Ferre’s first Pacifist challenger. This character was created during the Mists of Pandaria expansion, which explains why her leveling timeline is so lengthy. “She started during MoP, while we were still learning about what Blizz counted as killing blows, etc – particularly the games at the DMF such as Whack-A-Gnoll. She never had any kills but knew that one proximity kill would end her run so she was particularly slow and cautious about when and where she played.”
Ferre chose to go with a Night Elf Druid for Ferreilean. “Since this was my first Pacifist, my thought was that Druid bird form would be a major advantage for herbing.”
Ferrilean’s leveling path was as follows: “Up to level 85 or so, she leveled by gathering, exploration, treasure hunting, and non-violent quests (including holidays and DMF). After that, she did mainly archaeology up to level 120.”
“In the SL expansion, she was prepared to continue doing archeology (though I wasn’t thrilled with the idea). When full experience points were restored for the daily cook/fish quests and holidays, she used those. She did not go to SL zones until she was nearly through level 59, which I did do the Maw skip and Threads of Fate because I wanted her to have a chance to visit Ardenweald. (This was just a little indulgence in mental roleplay for her, since she was my first Pacifist and I am pretty attached to her.) Honestly, I was too afraid of prox kills to risk her doing anything out in the world there.”
When we asked Ferre if she had any close calls while leveling Ferrilean she responded with: “Just a lot of being really careful about avoiding the occasion for any proximity kills.”
Ferre has the following advice for those trying the Pacifist Challenge: “I think I’ve tried a variety of Pacifist pathways – and they all work for particular class/race combinations. I don’t really suggest this slow route for anyone at this point, with faster options being available (such as WQs). Knowing what I know now, I could have changed her professions for SL and done some safe profession WQs without too much exposure to people killing things nearby, but it wasn’t a risk I chose to take with this one.”
What’s next for Ferre? Will she be taking a break or is it time to jump on another challenger? “…ongoing Pacifist, Iron, Working Man, and Green Man challengers.”
Best of luck with your challenger projects and congrats again on becoming our 14th Shadowlands Pacifist Challenge champion with Ferreilean!
