Congratulations to Ferrekessaa on becoming our 2nd Dragonflight Pacifist Challenge champion! Ferrekessaa’s Pacifist journey has had many chapters with this expansion adding yet another. The length of her journey over the course of several expansions has taken approximately 1,723 days. Her overall /played time comes in at 24 days, 12 hours, and 33 minutes. Having previously reached Pacifist champion status at level 60(Shadowlands), Ferre was able to estimate Ferrekessaa’s leveling time through levels 60 to 70 to be 1 day and 7 hours, and 24 minutes. 

Ferrekessaa is Ferre’s 1st Pacifist champion of Dragonflight so far and her 2nd overall champion in this expansion. Her other challenge champion was Ferrelin a Working Man challenger.

Ferre chose to play the Pacifist Challenge because “I love my pacifists!”

She also included a special side note about Ferrekessaa’s run that she’d like us to share: “This run is dedicated to the memory of Fiveiron for all of his enthusiasm, knowledge, and encouragement.”

“He was an inspiration during the BFA era, where both of our challengers had a side goal in mind – to learn the Archeology/Alchemy-based mount: The Vials of the Sands – a combination of big-time RNG which also involved a lot of gathering and crafting to actually make the recipe once it dropped.”

Ferrekessaa was created as a Night Elf Subtlety Rogue. “I prefer stealth classes for Pacifists and like the crowd control of a Rogue. The Rogue talent ‘Subterfuge’ is also really helpful for doing Archaeology, allowing one to do surveying while in stealth.”

When we asked Ferre about the leveling path she chose for Ferrekessaa she shared the following information with us: “This character has a bit of a history, strongly defined by her professions. I’ll link to her write-up for Legion which has a lot of detail about her focus on archeology and her quest for The Vial of the Sands, which Fiveiron had inspired her to try to get.”

“After taking a break from it during SL, Ferrekessaa went back to Archeology for the majority of her experience in DF. She did not go to the Dragon Isles. She also did cooking/fishing dailies in SW or Darnassus along with holiday quests and the DMF profession quests and turn-ins. In her lower 60s, she also did some SL WQs before the experience dropped off too much.”

Did Ferre have any close calls while leveling Ferrekessaa? “No, but she was extraordinarily cautious doing Herbing and Archeology after my first DF pacifist attempt was cut short at 68 by a critter kill.”

“It felt very ironic that Ferrekessaa’s last dig site was at the Grove of Assina in Hyjal. This site is the home of many many bunnies, squirrels, and other wee creatures, and is where my other pacifist had her sad encounter with a bunny. Ferrekessaa was very relieved to get through it safely.”

Ferre has the following advice for others trying out the Pacifist Challenge: “Be fluid with your profession choices. At this point, you don’t need any particular level of a profession to do the DMF quests, so it’s worth it to change those up sometimes. I kept Herbing and Alchemy since I didn’t want to lose access to the alchemy-based mount recipe in case I ever wanted to make it again.”

“I also always turn on the option to see low-level quests. In Bastion, there is a short quest chain given by Elios (one of the Stewards) who asks you to bring him a ripe Purian fruit and place it at a nearby shrine (the quest is called Fruit of the Gods). This used to become available at level 60, so previous challengers never did it. It’s actually something that any challenge toons (except BT’s) can do since it requires no professions. Just a nice little bit of exp, especially nice for Irons who aren’t good at killing things.”

What’s next for Ferre? Will she be taking a break or will she be moving on to the next challenger? Well, Ferre tells us that she has several Pacifists, Irons, Working Man, and Green Man challengers in progress that she’ll be keeping busy with.
