Congratulations to Ferreisola for reaching max level, making her the 16th Dragonflight Green Man Challenge champion. This is Ferre’s seventeenth Dragonflight Challenge Champion. She also has two Iron Man challengers, four Working Man challengers, eight Pacifist challengers and two Green Man challenger – all max level Dragonflight Champions. Ferreisola’s journey was 290 days, 3 hrs, 14 min, 11 sec with a /played of 3 days, 14 hours and 15 minutes.
Why did you choose this challenge to play? Ferre said, “I had a lot of fun leveling a Shaman in the Working Man Challenge, and decided to try a Green Man Shaman, hoping to do at least a little bit of questing in Dragon Isles with her.”
What class/spec did Ferre choose to go with, and were there any specific reasons for that choice? “Ferreisola is a Draenei Resto Shaman. I found her DPS to be very strong and the addition of healing abilities really added to survivability.”
What path did you take to level, and were there specific reasons for those choices? Ferre said, “Ferreisola leveled mostly through my usual route, except doing more in the Draenei zones than in Elwynn Forest/Loch Modan. She tended to stay in Kalimdor until she could fly, (questing in Felwood, Feralas, Winterspring). After getting flying ability, she moved to Northrend and then Pandaria.
At Lvl 60, she went to Shadowlands, (Threads of Fate), to do WQs. She did go to the Dragon Isles, doing some quests in the Waking Shores. This was before I had the ability to do normal flight (non-Dragonriding), so she didn’t venture much further into the Dragon Isles. At that point, she focussed on holidays and DMF turn-ins along with the Bonus Experience WQ’s in Shadowlands in order to reach Lvl 70.”
Did you have any close calls while leveling this character? “She had a few challenging fights doing the quests in Waking Shores, where she tended to get more adds than she really wanted to deal with. Fortunately her Rock Elemental and her strong healing got her through those safely.”
Do you have any advice you would give to someone else thinking of trying out the Green Man challenge? Ferre said, “Be sure to update your gear periodically, especially before starting to quest in Dragon Isles. There is often reasonably priced drafted gear available on the AH for Lvl 61, (at least on my server), and it’s worth the investment. Also, be sure to use ALL of your abilities. It gets easy at lower levels to just rely on a few spells, but some of the other skills can help you survive in more difficult situations.”
Are you working on any other challengers, or do you plan on taking a break for a while? “Ongoing Iron Mans, Working Mans, Green Man and Pacifists challengers,” Ferre states.
Congratulations once again to Ferre on Ferreisola becoming our 16th Dragonflight Green Man Challenge Champion, and best of luck with your future challenge adventures.
