Congratulations to Debriron for reaching max level, making them our 47th The War Within Iron Man Challenge champion! Debriron’s total journey was 18 days, 23 hrs, 39 mins, 2 secs, with a /played of 15 hrs, 3 mins. 
This is Nyx’s first Max Level Champion in The War Within expansion.

Why did you choose this challenge to play? Nyx mentioned, “I heard of the Iron Man challenge several years ago, this year, we were doing a charity streaming event through December and were looking for content, so I decided that this will be my part!”

What race/class/spec did you choose to go with and were there any specific reasons for that choice? Nyx said, “For safety reasons, I chose Paladin. I have played Paladin since TBC and leveled multiple different toons to max level, so I felt pretty comfortable with that. As for the race, I choose Draenei because I have never really played Alliance before and thought that could be interesting. That idea was basically worthless at around Level 20.”

What path did you take to level and were there specific reasons for those choices? “I rarely played only quests the last couple of years, so that was challenging to choose. First, I levelled through the starting zone until I learnt to fly. Next up, I cleared all main story lines in Dragonflight. Next up, I chose to play a few quests in Mists of Pandaria, but I soon remembered some pretty hard quests and changed my mind. With this, my journey switched to TBC, which I completed two areas – Hellfire Peninsula and Terrokar Forrest. As I was slowly getting annoyed by the inconvenient way of questing was back then, I levelled to 70 in Shadowlands, after that, I played TWW.”

Did you have any close calls while leveling this character? Nyx said, “My first close call was around Level 35 in The Azure Span with a bunch of trolls, after that it went pretty smooth until around Level 55 in Bastion. It was overall a pretty hard zone and I needed to be very careful. But nothing prepared me for the TWW intro quests. I almost died twice in Dalaran and was running for my life at the shore afterwards, it almost got me three more times there. This is when I decided to swap from Retribution to Protection.”

Do you have any advice you would give to someone else thinking of trying out Iron Man Challenge? “Take your time, test the waters, skill your talents for more survivability and true damage. Don’t forget, like I did when I started this journey, you have zero Primary or Secondary Stats to work with. And stay away from birds, they can be really dangerous!” Nyx mentioned.

Are you working on any other challengers or do you plan on taking a break for a while? Nyx said, “I will sure take a break for a few days, but I might check out a caster Iron Man or a Pacifist run before Midnight releases!”
