Congratulations to Evicrash for reaching max level and making them the 13th The War Within Green Man Challenge champion. Evicrash’s journey from 70-80 took just over fourteen hours, and the /played is 734 days, 2 hrs, 25 mins, 40 secs. 

This is Evi’s fifth The War Within Challenge Champion. 

Why did you choose this challenge to play? Evi said, “It was a combination of a few challenges. We had a running challenge in our guild to reach max level on all classes for both factions. While doing that, I also did some of them as Green Man challengers to help make it a bit more engaging. It was also on the agreement that if I failed Green Man, I would also delete the character and start again.”

What race/class/spec did you choose to go with and were there any specific reasons for that choice? “Stuck with Prot Warrior for this one. I don’t feel particularly comfortable with Warrior as a class overall, its one of my least played, so having the added security of Ignore Pain and the other passive healing just gave some security. I also rather enjoyed playing Prot as it flowed quite nicely gaining and spending Rage, so by about Level 40 I was hooked and wasn’t going to change.”

What path did you take to level and were there specific reasons for those choices? Evi said, “Honestly I started this so long ago I can barely remember. I think I spent most of my time in BFA zones, levelling through Zul’dazar and then out in Vol’dun. I dabbled in a few other zones, trying out a little bit of Cataclysm as well, hitting 70 while in Mount Hyjal, one of my favourite questing chains around. Once I hit 70 and started through The War Within I went through the first zone only, levelling was so fast I didn’t even get to finish the zone and I was max. Its crazy the difference between the start of the expansion and now, felt like a rocket ride from about Level 50 to max. Anyone would think I was on Legion Remix.”

If this was not the first challenger of yours in this specific challenge to reach max level, did your leveling path differ from previous champions and if so why? “I try and vary the levelling path a bit from one challenger to another just to keep it fresh. Its nice to experience different areas of the game after not being there for a while. BFA questing was a little underrated and gave me some good memories of going through it back in the day. There are some zones I always like to do and will do them if I get the chance, but otherwise its just spread out and experience the nostalgia and years of content we are lucky enough to have,” Evi mentioned.

Did you have any close calls while leveling this character? “One. I pulled a rare in Zul’dazar around Level 30 and it just about finished me off. I think I was down to less than 100 hit points and out of cooldowns at that point, very edge of the seat gaming. Otherwise, just managed it and got through without too many worries.”

Do you have any advice you would give to someone else thinking of trying out Green Man challenge? Evi said, “Take advantage of the reduction in XP required to level that is going on in the leadup to Midnight, its insanely fast to level up so a good chance to get one done.”
