Congratulations to Ferrestealth on becoming our 3rd Dragonflight Working Man Challenge champion! Ferrestealth’s Working Man journey took 102 days, 18 hours, and 23 minutes with a /played time of 3 days, 2 hours, and 51 minutes to complete.
This is Ferre’s 2nd Working Man champion and her 3rd challenge champion overall for Dragonflight. Her other 2 champions thus far were Ferrekessaa, a Pacifist, and Ferrelin, a Working Man.
Ferre chose to play the Working Man Challenge because she was excited to be able to play one of the 1st Tauren Rogues. “I chose Working Man for her because I wanted to be able to get out and about to see some of the low-level quests in Mulgore and some other Horde places but be able to use her professions to make leveling faster at higher levels.”
Ferrestealth was created as a Tauren Subtlety Rogue. “It’s a class and spec I know well, which was important to me since her zones and leveling paths would be very new to me (as a mostly alliance player).”
Ferre used the following leveling strategy for Ferrestealth: “At low levels, she quested in Mulgore and the Barrens, did gathering and the DMF (and holidays as they appeared, although she wasn’t keen on the ones that wanted you to hang out just outside the gates of Orgimmar.”
“She always did her cooking/fishing dailies in Thunder Bluff, and when possible, in Northrend Dalaran (starting very early). Did some other questing in Northrend, including Argent Tournament until she had flight and could a) do treasure hunting in Northrend and b) go to Pandaria and work for the Tillers (She loved that farm! And the gathering there!).”
“Continued that until Chromie time expired, and spent the last 10 levels doing a lot of archeology/cooking/fishing/holidays/DMF. She carefully selected what to do as her last quest before 70 – and chose to distribute chocolates to all of her NPC friends in Thunder Bluff!”
Did Ferre have any close calls while leveling Ferrestealth? “Her biggest (and constant) danger was in getting too close to Alliance towns and guards. All of my knowledge of archeology dig sites is based on playing Alliance characters. Her archeology was done mainly in Kalimdor, and after flying way too close (in my opinion) to some Alliance places in Feralas, I started scouting out the best ways to approach some of those sites, using a regular Nightborne mage. Archeology was a bit more stressful than usual, trying to make sure to stay in Oneiros and OUT of Dreamers Rest, for example.”
Ferre has the following advice for others trying out the Working Man Challenge: “I love this challenge – you get to do as much regular (kill-based) quests as you like – or until you can’t do that anymore. But meanwhile, your leveling goes faster if you herb/mine along the way (which is also a great source of gold). I generally save archeology until I’m done with Chromie time except for a few ‘easy’ sites.”
What’s next for Ferre? Will she be taking a break or moving on to another challenger? “Ongoing vegan Pacifist Rogue and NE Druid as well as my Tauren Druid Pacifist from the last expansion.”
Good luck with your other challengers and congratulations once again on Ferrestealth becoming our 3rd Working Man champion of Dragonflight.
