Congratulations to Ferreverdae for reaching max level, making her the 12th Dragonflight Green Man Challenge champion. This is Ferre’s fifteen Dragonflight Challenge Champion. She also has two Iron Man challengers, four Working Man challengers, seven Pacifist challengers and one Green Man challenger – all max level Dragonflight Champions. Ferreverdae’s journey was 2022 days, 4 hrs, 47 min, 48 sec with a /played of 13 days, 16 hours and 1 minute.
Why did you choose this challenge to play? Ferre said, “This was the first Green Man challenger that I ever created, prompted by the death of a high level Iron Rogue. I wanted to see how much the green gear might help with both killing mobs and being able to stay alive.”
What class/spec did Ferre choose to go with, and were there any specific reasons for that choice? “Ferreverdae is a NE Subtlety Rogue. I know that Outlaw has a lot of advantages, but I’ve always been more comfortable with playing Subtlety. I strongly prefer attacking from Stealth and the availability of talent points makes it even more attractive to me now than it already was. She’s a NE because you can’t have too many escape routes and Shadowmeld is a good addition to the options.”
What path did you take to level, and were there specific reasons for those choices? Ferre said, “Ferreverdae started during the Legion expansion and her green gear made it possible to enjoy questing and treasure hunting in Draenor, including opening the Mine and Herb Garden in her Garrison. I wasn’t a fan of BFA, and did only a limited amount of questing there, (I did not have the ability to fly in that expansion until much later). And she pretty much sat out most of the Shadowland expansion, (I had other toons that I was busy with).
Once Dragonflight arrived, she did go to the Shadowlands with Threads of Fate and did a lot of WQ’s there, focussing on those that gave bonus experience. She did not go to the Dragon Isles, again, lack of flight until she was nearly max level. Her other activities were mainly holiday events and DMF turn-ins.”
Did you have any close calls while leveling this character? “Her scariest close call was opening the Mine at her Garrison in Draenor. It definitely took all of her Rogue tricks and crowd control to get to the boss in there and actually kill him. Not recommended for the faint of heart or other leather-wearing classes with weak crowd control, (I’m looking at you, all of my druids!)”
Do you have any advice you would give to someone else thinking of trying out the Green Man challenge? Ferre said, “Be sure to keep your gear updated, especially weapons. When I play Green Mans, I go green in all slots, but always need to keep an eye out for green quality trinkets. Definitely shop for a complete armor upgrade at Lvl 61 – crafters often sell their leveling wares on the AH for pretty reasonable prices. Oh, and be careful with quest rewards – don’t be too quick to equip them – so many of them turn out to be blue or purple!”
Are you working on any other challengers, or do you plan on taking a break for a while? “Ongoing Iron Mans, Working Mans, Green Man and Pacifists challengers,” Ferre states.
Congratulations once again to Ferre on Ferreverdae becoming our 12th Dragonflight Green Man Challenge Champion, and best of luck with your future challenge adventures.
