Congratulations to Ferrewynter, our 6th Dragonflight Working Man Challenge Champion!

Congratulations to Ferrewynter on becoming our 6th Dragonflight Working Man Challenge Champion! Ferrewynter’s Working Man journey took 1305 days, 17 hrs, 46 min, 34 sec, with a /played time of 3 days, 12 hours, and 23 minutes.

This is Ferre’s fourth Working Man Challenge Champion in the Dragonflight expansion, and her seventh Challenge Champion overall, with three Pacifists also.

Ferre says, “Ferrewynter started off during BFA, and I already knew that my Druids were not able to kill their way to max level, so the Working Man Challenge offered a chance to do some Iron Man type questing, but augment that with gathering and other professions that would carry on during later levels.”

What class/spec did you choose to go with, and were there any specific reasons for that choice? Ferre said, “Ferrewynter is a NE Resto Druid. She began as Balance, but switched to Resto when she started doing more gathering activities than kill quests. Druid crowd control isn’t good, but having a strong set of heals as Resto really improves survivability.”

What path did you take to level, and were there specific reasons for those choices? Ferre said, “She reached max level in both the BFA and Shadowlands expansions, following a typical path for my challengers – questing and gathering mostly in Kalimdor until getting Flight Form. That opened up Northrend and then Pandaria for doing quests, dailies and gathering. In Shadowlands, she joined the Night Fae with Threads of Fate and dropped Mining in favor of Alchemy as a second profession for access to better profession world quests. She also did quite a bit of Archeology (old world). From 60-70, she used Archeology, Cooking/Fishing dailies, WQ’s in Shadowlands and holiday/DMF quests, without going to Dragon Isles. I find that doing Archeology on a Working Man is actually pretty relaxing, but I prefer doing that only after building up some rested time.”

Did you have any close calls while leveling this character? “No, not really; a few disconnect scares, but they ended well,” Ferre mentioned.

Do you have any advice you would give to someone else thinking of trying out the Working Man challenge? Ferre mentions, “I’ve found that I prefer the Working Man Challenge over the Pacifist route for Druids, since their lack of crowd control is much less of a factor. I will add a warning to anyone playing both of these challenges at the same time – be sure to frequently remind yourself about whether the toon you’re on is actually a Working Man and not a Pacifist on the verge of killing something that gets in their way!”

Are you working on any other challengers, or do you plan on taking a break for a while? “Ongoing Iron Man, Pacifist, Working Man, and Green Man Challengers.”

Good luck with your other challengers Ferre, and congratulations once again on Ferrewynter becoming our 6th Dragonflight Working Man Challenge Champion.
