Congratulations to Eviangy for reaching max level, making her the 11th Dragonflight Green Man Challenge champion. This is Evi’s second Dragonflight Green Man Challenge Champion, with Evi’s first max level Green Man, Evistriana, being an Allied Race Hunter. Eviangy’s journey was 35 days, 22 hrs, 18 min, 54 sec with a /played of 1 day, 7 hours and 32 minutes.
Why did you choose this challenge to play? Evi said, “I really enjoy levelling as a Green Man. Its not too dissimilar from regular levelling but with the added challenge of not dying and your ilevel being lower than normal. I’m not sure I have the patience for Iron, Paci or Blood, so Green works really well for me.”
What class/spec did Evi choose to go with, and were there any specific reasons for that choice? “Blood Elf Beast Master Hunter. I’ve got a lot of experience with BM Hunter from end-game content, so wanted to push myself to see if those skills can be applied to other aspects. I’ve had a max level Hunter since Legion, so it was really good to see the way the class evolves with the DF talent builds and experiment with different talents along the way. As for Blood Elf, most of my character are BElfs. Best looking class in the game, and there is always that hidden 5% buff just for looking good too! The toon name comes from this image,” (See picture on left).
What path did you take to level, and were there specific reasons for those choices? Evi said, “My path was really obtuse and weird honestly. Eviangy was created initially as a Bloodthirsty toon (She is so angry, so killing all the things!). I didn’t register it with the Bloodthirsty Challenge until 19, and I had been out in BFA zones until then. Apparently some of the mobs I killed counted as dailies, so I converted her into a Green challenger. I went back to BFA and did the quests, clearing most of Zuldazar and a bit of Nazmir. At 30 I went back to Cataclysm, as I love these zones (it was my first WoW expansion). I did most of Vash’jir before I had completely out levelled the quests, so went back and did the start of Shadowlands up to Maldraxxus, then on to Dragonflight, which I did all of Waking Shores, Ohn’ahran Plains and Thaldraszus, and only a bit of Azure Span.”
Did you have any close calls while leveling this character? “Honestly, very few. There was one moment in Thaldraszus where I accidentally pulled three sets of mobs all at once, though with my conservative talent build and DPS cooldowns, I was able to blow through the mobs before my pet died. I didn’t have any problems questing until around Level 68 when the weakness really kicked in and just had to be super careful all the way through 68 and 69, but never really got into major danger,” Evi mentioned.
Do you have any advice you would give to someone else thinking of trying out the Green Man challenge? Evi said, “Green Man is a lot of fun. With Primary, Secondary Stats, and Stamina still present on your gear (unlike with Iron), the main focus becomes focusing on not dying and utilising your class well, (especially Hunter with the pet). Embrace the challenge! Take your time with your decisions and when looking at gear to equip. Consider an escape route at all times, and don’t just follow the guides when it comes to talent builds. Utility and survivability are key!”
Are you working on any other challengers, or do you plan on taking a break for a while? “Oh so many plans! I had a Demo Warlock red flag around Level 40, doing a Green Man challenge as well, last month after I equipped a blue while not fully paying attention, and I want to avenge that one. This is my second Green Hunter, so maybe completing the trifecta and a third too? Beyond that, my better half and I have an Iron Team and Green Team in the works!” Evi states.
Congratulations once again to Evi on Eviangy becoming our 11th Dragonflight Green Man Challenge Champion, and best of luck with your future challenge adventures.
