Congratulations to Monkster for reaching max level, making her our 13th Dragonflight Iron Man Challenge Champion. Monkster’s Iron Man journey took 28 days, 16 hrs, 6 min, 13 sec.
This is Ster’s first non-stealthy to make it to max level as an Iron Man in the Dragonflight expansion, following in the steps of Elfster and Druidster. Monkster started her journey mid-March after at least one monk attempt, taking exactly one month to go from level 1 to 70 with 4 days of /played time. Her earlier highest Monk death was at Level 60 when she was dismounted mid-air, and learned that Zen Flight doesn’t work in Dragon Isles. (Hint: always have goblin gliders!)
When asked about Monkster’s leveling journey, Ster said, “She mimicked what the earlier toons did, i.e. get to 60 via old world, then in Dragon Isles, chase paci-safe quests. Follow the forum post that is titled ‘Paci-safe quests in Dragonflight‘ – these are generally safe for the other challenger classes like Monk. Also, loot the chests that spawn daily in BfA, which continue to provide decent XP. And – look over the zones in Shadowlands daily – some of those quests that say ‘Bonus Experience’ – while not all are doable by a challenger, the ones you can do pay full XP – all the way up to level 70.
Monkster’s only holiday during this period was Noblegarden, which can give you a little bit of safe XP. For the final levels of 66-70, Monkster did a lot of dragon racing, plus the paci-safe quests mentioned above. Monkster could not kill NPCs solo in Dragon Isles, so questing mostly non-combat quests was the only real option for gaining meaningful XP.”
What’s next for me? “Oh, good question. Now have a Rogue, Druid and Monk at max, might be time to level a Hunter or dare say it – a Horde.”
Congratulations once again to Ster on Monkster becoming our 13th Dragonflight Iron Man Champion, and best of luck with your future Challenge adventures.
